Ward is the daughter of detective Eddie Ward and Sue Ward, a nurse and associate professor, and was born in Monroe, Louisiana. She went to River Oaks High School and graduated from Ouachita Parish High School. Ward began modeling when he was 13 years old, dropping out of school and traveling to New York City to pursue his dream. She started acting a few years later. In 1995, she starred in the ABC soap opera All My Children and in Aaron Spelling’s NBC adolescent drama Malibu Shores.
